Education & Experience

I, Jeffrey R Kinnear earned a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine degree from Southwest Acupuncture College in August of 2006. This four-year program consists of 3,000 hours of education including 1,095 hours of clinical practice. I was certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in July 2006. This includes certification in Clean Needle Technique and Chinese Herbology. After graduation, I moved to Durango Colorado to practice for one year. I received my Colorado acupuncturist’s license in 2006. In 2007 I returned to Pennsylvania and received my Pennsylvania license for Oriental Medicine. I have never had a license, certificate, or registration revoked or suspended.

My training includes adjunctive therapies such as moxibustion, tui na, acupressure, cupping, auriculo-therapy, qi gong, and dietary and lifestyle recommendations.

I am a member of the American Acupuncture Council.

My practice complies with the rules and regulations promulgated by the Department of Health, including the proper cleaning and sterilization of needles and the sanitation of acupuncture offices. Only single-use, disposable, factory-sterilized needles are utilized.

The practice of acupuncture is regulated by the State Board of Medicine. If you have comments, questions, or complaints, contact: State Board of Medicine P.O. Box 2649 Harrisburg, PA 17105-2649 717-783-1400.
